Photography & deeper storytelling

This is Into the Woods

Made from a natural curiosity and passion for New Zealand's rural communities.

We’re drawn to the people who quietly make things happen. The people, families, communities and places that shape our landscape.

Through photography and writing, we preserve the moments, histories and connections that deserve to be remembered; whether it’s a farming family, a milestone worth celebrating, or a piece of history waiting to be shared.

Our approach is grounded in genuine engagement, taking the time to understand the people behind the photographs and the stories behind the moments. We believe the most meaningful work comes from connection, curiosity, and an honest appreciation for what makes everyone and everything different.

Based in North Canterbury, but always willing to wander, Into The Woods exists to capture, record and celebrate the character of rural New Zealand and the lives that shape it.

There are stories from the past that hold real value, and in this present day, new stories are being made. We are here to document what matters most. Our people and the land. You'll find us here,
proud of who we are.

What we offer

Photography made for the moments, people and places that matter.

We look beyond the surface to reveal what matters most. From rural New Zealand and community life to personal milestones and everyday moments, we create imagery that connects people with place, purpose and each other.

the Written Word

Because some things deserve more than a photograph.

The memories passed down through generations, the lessons learned from the land, the achievements of ordinary people doing extraordinary things, and the histories that risk being forgotten with time.

Everybody Has A Story.

the face behind the camera

A flatland girl at heart, I grew up up on the Plains where the horizon stretches wide and mountains are few.

Based in North Canterbury, I’ve got a love for capturing moments – from the mountains to the sea.
