About Us
Behind the Lens
My name is Georgina Woods, though most people know me as Georgie or G. I’m a photographer based in North Canterbury, with a love for capturing moments – from the mountains to the sea.
Creativity has always been stitched into who I am. My sister and I grew up chasing the creative side of life – drawing, painting, and making things just for the joy of it. We’d constantly pinch our parents’ old digital camera, photographing anything that caught our eye.
Growing up, weekends were often spent with Dad on the farm or, later, travelling back and forth to Twizel for rowing. My dad was – and still is – always happy to head off the beaten track if it means I can get the shot I want.
What started with scenic shots soon grew into something more. In my late teens, I began taking my camera along to rowing regattas, which led to photographing the likes of community gatherings and other sporting events.
After graduating from university, I decided to give my photography a name, and Photos by Georgina was born. What had always been something I simply loved doing was beginning to grow, with more opportunities to photograph people, events and the stories around me.
Now in my early twenties, I work full-time in the agricultural industry as an Environmental Farm Advisor. My life is deeply rooted in agriculture – in the strength and heart of the people who make up this community. Alongside that, my photography continues to grow.
I’d love to chat and see how I can help capture your moments.
